Green Monkey Creative has been the marketing support & partner for the Compass Run for Food since winter 2018 providing social media campaigns, logo designs, website updates, posters, postcards, race day signage, PowerPoint presentations, email campaigns, swag designs (t-shirt, bag, bib, medal etc.), press releases and more.

Typically the Compass Run for Food is held the second Saturday of June, so in early January of 2020, Jess met with the run team to start planning for the June event. This year Compass Run set a goal to raise $64,000 which would bring the total of funds donated over 7 years to a whopping $250,000 – a quarter of a million dollars! AND THEY DID IT!!!

As with all community events this year, things needed to change and so in March, the race executive made the decision to postpone the event until the fall however $25,000 that had been raised thus far were donated to local food banks to support the community in the time of need. Fast forward to July and many virtual meetings later the run executive announced that the 2020 Compass Run would be going virtual! This run is such an important part of our local community as all profits raised are donated to local food initiatives including food banks and school breakfast programs.

On October 3rd Jess joined the race executive on race pickup day to assist with capturing photos and doing live videos for social. This fun-filled morning allowed participants to drive-thru and pick up their race swag, coffee, treats & get their race day photo taken in a selfie frame that we designed!

Throughout the month of October participants, were encouraged to share photos of them completing the run using the hashtag #CompassRunForFood which brought a sense of community and connection to the virtual event.

We are so proud and honoured to apart of this fantastic event and can’t wait to help the Compass Run team smash their goals in 2021!
